<I><B>cristata</B></I> ([[Downie, 1958]], p.338-339, pl.16, fig.4; text-fig.4f) [[Rauscher, 1973]], p.65.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Downie, 1958]], pl.16, fig.4.&nbsp; Originally <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium cristatum|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I>, subsequently <I>[[Baltisphaeridium cristatum Downie 1958 Appendix A|Baltisphaeridium]]</I> (Appendix A), thirdly <I>[[Priscogalea cristata Appendix A|Priscogalea]]</I> (Appendix A), fourthly (and now) <I>Cymatiogalea</I>.&nbsp; Taxonomic junior synonym: <I>Cymatiogalea polygonophora</I> [[G&#243;rka, 1967]], an acritarch species, according to [[Rasul, 1974|Rasul (1974]], p.56).&nbsp; [[Eisenack et al., 1973|Eisenack et al. (1973]], p.219-220), [[Rasul, 1974|Rasul (1974]], p.56) and [[Deunff et al., 1974|Deunff et al. (1974]], p.11) also proposed this combination.&nbsp; Age: Early Ordovician.
