"<I><B>membranacea</B></I>" ([[Philippot, 1949]], p.57-58; text-fig.3) Davey and Williams in [[Davey et al., 1969]] (December), p.5.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Philippot, 1949]], text-fig.3.&nbsp; <B>Name illegitimate - senior homonym</B>: <I>Cymatiosphaera membranacea</I> ([[Deunff, 1955]] ex [[Deunff, 1961b]]) [[Stockmans and Willi&#232;re, 1969]] (April).&nbsp; <B>Substitute name</B>: <I>[[Cymatiosphaera philippotii Appendix A|Cymatiosphaera philippotii]]</I> (Appendix A).&nbsp; Originally <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium membranaceum]]</I>, subsequently <I>Cymatiosphaera membranacea</I> (name illegitimate), thirdly (and now) <I>[[Cymatiosphaera philippotii Appendix A|Cymatiosphaera philippotii]]</I> (Appendix A).&nbsp; Junior homonym: <I>Cymatiosphaera membranacea</I> [[Kiryanov, 1974]], a prasinophyte species.&nbsp; This combination was not validly published in [[Davey and Williams, 1966b|Davey and Williams (1966b]], p.104), since these authors did not fully reference the basionym.&nbsp; Age: Late Cretaceous.
