<I><B>strongyla</B></I> [[Sarjeant, 1972]], p.35-37, pl.4, fig.7; text-fig.7.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Sarjeant, 1972]], pl.4, fig.7; text-fig.7.&nbsp; Originally (and now) <I>Meiourogonyaulax</I>, subsequently <I>[[Lithodinia strongyla|Lithodinia]]</I>, thirdly <I>[[Lithodinia strongyla|Lithodinia]]</I>?.&nbsp; This species is here retained in <I>Meiourogonyaulax</I> following the retention of the genus by [[Riding and Helby, 2001d|Riding and Helby (2001d]], p.81,83).&nbsp; [[Sarjeant, 1972|Sarjeant (1972]]) cited the epithet as "<I>strongylos</I>", the Greek adjective for rounded.&nbsp; Since Principle 5 of the I.C.B.N. states that taxon names are to be treated as Latin, this epithet should be rendered as "<I>strongyla</I>", in agreement with the feminine gender of the generic name ("<I>strongylum</I>" would be the neuter form, and "<I>strongylus</I>" the masculine form).&nbsp; Age: Bathonian.
