(combination not validly published), thirdly <I>Palinosphaera</I> (combination not validly published), fourthly (and now) <I>[[Pithonella sphaerica|Pithonella]]</I>.&nbsp; Questionable assignment: [[Locker, 1967|Locker (1967]], caption to pl.1-2) - however, as type, the species can not be questionably assigned.&nbsp; Taxonomic senior synonym: <I>[[Lagena ovalis Appendix A|Lagena]]</I> (now <I>[[Pithonella ovalis|Pithonella]]</I>) <I>[[Lagena ovalis Appendix A|ovalis]]</I>, according to [[Lorenz, 1902|Lorenz (1902]], p.46) - however, [[Bonet, 1956|Bonet (1956]], p.450) retained <I>[[Lagena sphaerica Appendix A|Lagena]]</I> (as <I>[[Stomiosphaera sphaerica|Stomiosphaera]]</I>) <I>[[Lagena sphaerica Appendix A|sphaerica]]</I>.&nbsp; Taxonomic junior synonym: <I>[[Lagena orbulinaria Appendix A|Lagena orbulinaria]]</I> (Appendix A), according to [[Bonet, 1956|Bonet (1956]], p.450).&nbsp; Age: late Cenomanian-Turonian (based on later studies by Bolli - P. Hochuli, personal communication).
