-/09/2015: There was yet another brief power interruption last night.  For all the improvements in the server the power supply is as unreliable as ever.  I'm not sure if it is a failing of our local power supplier or the university system.  The rest of the city is not like this, so I'm suspicious of the latter.  However, the interruption did answer the question of when would be a convenient time to install an uninterruptible power supply (UPS): now.  This should get the server through the briefer interruptions.  Major winter storms will be a different challenge, but there should be some improvement.
+/01/2016: Last night was the first major snowstorm of the season with high winds.  There was a power interruption that may have affected the local network connectivity briefly, but the server UPS handled it without problem and dinoflaj2 has been functional without any human intervention.  Hurrah!
