It comprises a &lt;I&gt;[[prepolar plate]]&lt;/I&gt; and five &lt;I&gt;[[latitudinal series]]&lt;/I&gt; of &lt;I&gt;[[Primary plate|primary plates]]&lt;/I&gt;, so arranged that only &lt;I&gt;[[Triple junction|triple junctions]]&lt;/I&gt; (and no quadruple junctions) occur.
