There is a &lt;I&gt;[[prepolar plate]]&lt;/I&gt; (P) and five &lt;I&gt;[[latitudinal series]]&lt;/I&gt; of &lt;I&gt;[[Plate|plates]]&lt;/I&gt; which, from &lt;I&gt;[[anterior]]&lt;/I&gt; to &lt;I&gt;[[posterior]]&lt;/I&gt;, are: &lt;I&gt;[[polar series]]&lt;/I&gt; (A-C), &lt;I&gt;[[preequatorial series]]&lt;/I&gt; (1-6), &lt;I&gt;[[equatorial series]]&lt;/I&gt; (a-f), &lt;I&gt;[[postequatorial series]]&lt;/I&gt; (I-VI), and &lt;I&gt;[[antipolar series]]&lt;/I&gt; (X-Z). Subdivision of a &lt;I&gt;[[primary plate]]&lt;/I&gt; may be longitudinal, from anterior to posterior [ &lt;I&gt;[[vorne]]&lt;/I&gt; (v), &lt;I&gt;[[medialis]]&lt;/I&gt; (m), or &lt;I&gt;[[hinten]]&lt;/I&gt; (h)], or latitudinal, from left to right [ &lt;I&gt;[[initialis]]&lt;/I&gt; (i), &lt;I&gt;[[medialis]]&lt;/I&gt; (m), or &lt;I&gt;[[ulter]]&lt;/I&gt; (u)].
