In the Taylor-Evitt tabulation system, when a primary plate is subdivided transversely (in an anticlockwise direction when viewed from the apex), the proximal subdivision is termed initialis. Designated by "i". Equivalent to dexter in the Taylor tabulation system. See also medialis and ulter.
