In the Kofoid tabulation system, a plate anterior to, and contiguous with, the cingulum. The same term and definition applies in the Eaton tabulation system. It is essentially equivalent to a preequatorial plate in the Taylor-Evitt tabulation system and a plate of the \septaseries in the Edwards tabulation system.
