Originally Gymnodinium heterocostatum var. kolpaschevi (Appendix B), subsequently (and now) Dinogymnium heterocostatum subsp. kolpaschevii. Lentin and Vozzhennikova (1990, p.17) provided an "expanded description" for this taxon. Age: Senonian.Dinogymnium heterocostatum
