Acritarch genus. Taxonomic junior synonym: Collumosphaera (Appendix A), according to Lentin and Williams (1985, p.88) - however, Lentin and Williams (1989, p.70) retained Collumosphaera. Type: Drugg and Loeblich Jr., 1967, pl.3, figs.1-2, as Cyclopsiella elliptica.
