"OVUM HISPIDUM" Lohmann, 1904, p.25. Name not validly published: it comprises two unhyphenated words. Fensome et al. (1990, p.637) stated: "Lohmann clearly intended this to be a generic name. As such, it is inadmissible under I.C.B.N. Article 20.3 (see especially Example 6) since it is composed of two words unhyphenated. It is not inadmissible on the grounds that it coincides with morphological terms since I.C.B.N. Article 20.2 does not apply to generic names proposed before 1912. .... We have not been able to verify the relationship, if any, between the generic name Ovum hispidum Lohmann and the species name Ovulum hispidum Ehrenberg, 1854 (fide Loeblich Jr. and Loeblich III, 1970a, p.539).".
