Holotype: Gerlach, 1961, pl.29, fig.1; Sarjeant, 1984b, pl.1, figs.4-5. Originally Baltisphaeridium (Appendix A), subsequently (and now) Achomosphaera. Age: mid Oligocene-mid Miocene.
