"PROTOPERIDINIUM subgenus PROTOPERIDINIUM section SELENOPEMPHIX" (Benedek, 1972, p.47) Harland, 1982, p.396. Emendation: Bujak in Bujak et al., 1980, p.82, as Selenopemphix. Combination not validly published: basionym not fully referenced. NOW Selenopemphix. Originally (and now) Selenopemphix, subsequently Protoperidinium subgenus Protoperidinium section Selenopemphix (combination not validly published). Harland in Harland et al. (1991, p.653-654) included Protoperidinium (now Selenopemphix) harpeza in this section. Bradford and Wall (1984, p.49) included Protoperidinium (now Omanodinium) tholus in this section. Type: Benedek, 1972, pl.11, fig.13, as Selenopemphix nephroides.
