?<B><I>pachycera</I></B> [[Deflandre and Cookson, 1955]], p.252, pl.4, fig.7.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Deflandre and Cookson, 1955]], pl.4, fig.7.&nbsp; Originally <I>Deflandrea</I>, subsequently (and now) <I>Deflandrea</I>?.&nbsp; Questionable assignment: [[Stover and Evitt, 1978|Stover and Evitt (1978]], p.101).&nbsp; The derivation of the epithet <I>pachyceros</I> was not stated in the protologue.&nbsp; Since Principle 5 of the I.C.N. states that taxon names are to be treated as Latin and since compound epithets are conventionally treated as adjectives, the epithet should be rendered as "<I>pachycera</I>", in agreement with the feminine gender of the generic name (the neuter would be "<I>pachycerum</I>" and the masculine "<I>pachycerus</I>").&nbsp; Age: Late Paleocene-Early Eocene.
