Originally <I>Galea</I> (generic name illegitimate), subsequently <I>[[Baltisphaeridium lychneum Appendix A|Baltisphaeridium]]</I> (Appendix A), thirdly <I>[[Areoligera lychnea|Areoligera]]</I>. <B>Taxonomic senior synonym</B>: <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium alcicornu|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I> (as <I>[[Achomosphaera alcicornu|Achomosphaera]]</I>) <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium alcicornu|alcicornu]]</I>, according to [[Sarjeant, 1983|Sarjeant (1983]], p.100-101). Following I.C.N. Article 55.1, the species name <I>Galea lychnea</I> is validly published even though the generic name <I>Galea</I> is illegitimate. Age: Miocene.
