<I><B>tenellum</B></I> [[Deflandre, 1939a]], p.182, pl.9, figs.9&ndash;10.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Deflandre, 1939a]], pl.9, figs.9&ndash;10.&nbsp; Taxonomic junior synonym: <I>[[Dichadogonyaulax stauromatos]]</I>, according to [[Courtinat, 1989|Courtinat (1989]], p.209) &mdash; however, [[Lentin and Williams, 1993|Lentin and Williams (1993]], p.179&ndash;180) retained <I>[[Dichadogonyaulax stauromatos]]</I> as a taxonomic junior synonym of <I>[[Dichadogonyaulax sellwoodii]]</I>.&nbsp; [[Sarjeant, 1978a|Sarjeant (1978a]], p.37) recommended "that this species name should be allowed to fall into disuse".&nbsp; [[Woollam, 1980|Woollam (1980]], p.250) considered <I>[[Dichadogonyaulax sellwoodii|Dichadogonyaulax]]</I> (as <I>[[Ctenidodinium sellwoodii|Ctenidodinium]]</I>) <I>[[Dichadogonyaulax sellwoodii|sellwoodii]]</I> and <I>[[Dichadogonyaulax stauromatos|Dichadogonyaulax]]</I> (as <I>[[Ctenidodinium stauromatos|Ctenidodinium]]</I>) <I>[[Dichadogonyaulax stauromatos|stauromatos]]</I> to be possible taxonomic junior synonyms of this species.&nbsp; Age: Oxfordian.
