In <I>[[Tabulation|tabulations]]</I> involving a <I>[[sagittal suture]]</I>, a single <I>[[growth band]]</I>, the megacytic growth band, is associated with this suture. The megacytic growth band is widest dorsally, gradually narrowing ventrally over the <I>[[anterior]]</I> pole and <I>[[posterior]]</I> pole and is narrowest, or absent, in the region of <I>[[flagellar insertion]]</I>.
