"<I><B>reniforme</B></I>" (Tasch in [[Tasch et al., 1964]], p.193, pl.2, fig.6) [[Davey, 1969a]], p.148.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Tasch et al., 1964]], pl.2, fig.6.&nbsp; Originally <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium reniforme|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I>, subsequently <I>Oligosphaeridium</I>.&nbsp; <B>Taxonomic senior synonym</B>: <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium albertense|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I> (now <I>[[Oligosphaeridium albertense|Oligosphaeridium]]</I>) <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium albertense|albertense]]</I>, by implication in [[Stover and Evitt, 1978|Stover and Evitt (1978]], p.69), who considered <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium reniforme]]</I> to be a taxonomic junior synonym of <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium albertense|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I> (subsequently <I>[[Oligosphaeridium irregulare|Oligosphaeridium]]</I>) <I>irregulare</I>, which is now a taxonomic junior synonym of <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium albertense|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I> (now <I>[[Oligosphaeridium albertense|Oligosphaeridium]]</I>) <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium albertense|albertense]]</I>.&nbsp; This combination was not validly published in [[Davey and Williams, 1966b|Davey and Williams (1966b]], p.77), since these authors did not fully reference the basionym.&nbsp; Fauconnier and Cornu in [[Fauconnier and Masure, 2004|Fauconnier and Masure (2004]], p.404) listed this as a problematic species but apparently accepted the synonymy cited above.&nbsp; Age: Albian.
