"subsp. <B><I>pilosum</I></B>" ([[Ehrenberg, 1854]], pl.37, section 8, fig.4) [[Downie and Sarjeant, 1965]], p.174.&nbsp; Emendation: [[Erkmen and Sarjeant, 1980]], p.51, as <I>[[Sentusidinium pilosum]]</I>.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Ehrenberg, 1854]], pl.37, section 8, fig.4.&nbsp; <B>Combination not validly published</B>: specific name not validly published, basionym not fully referenced, and combination not intended.&nbsp; <B>NOW</B> <I>[[Barbatacysta pilosa]]</I>.&nbsp; Originally <I>[[Xanthidium pilosum Appendix A|Xanthidium pilosum]]</I> (Appendix A), subsequently <I>[[Hystrichosphaera pilosa]]</I> (combination not validly published), thirdly <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium pilosum|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I>? <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium pilosum|pilosum]]</I>, fourthly <I>[[Baltisphaeridium pilosum Appendix A|Baltisphaeridium pilosum]]</I> (Appendix A), fifthly <I>Ovum hispidum</I> subsp. <I>pilosum</I> (combination not validly published), sixthly <I>[[Cleistosphaeridium pilosum]]</I> (combination not validly published), seventhly <I>[[Tenua pilosa]]</I>, eighthly <I>[[Sentusidinium pilosum]]</I>, ninthly <I>[[Batiacasphaera pilosa]]</I>, tenthly (and now) <I>[[Barbatacysta pilosa]]</I>.&nbsp; [[Downie and Sarjeant, 1965|Downie and Sarjeant (1965]], p.174) attributed this combination to [[Lohmann, 1904|Lohmann (1904]]); however, the combination apparently was not proposed in the latter publication.&nbsp; Age: Oxfordian.
