Holotype: Deflandre, 1939a, pl.11, fig.2; Stancliffe and Sarjeant, 1990, pl.1, figs.3-4; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.1, figs.7-8. NOW Adnatosphaeridium. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Cannosphaeropsis, thirdly (and now) Adnatosphaeridium, fourthly Polystephanephorus. Age: Early Oxfordian.
