Originally Cleistosphaeridium, subsequently Operculodinium, thirdly Downiesphaeridium, fourthly (and now) Lingulodinium. Taxonomic junior synonyms: Solisphaeridium filamentosum (Appendix A) and Impletosphaeridium charrieri, both according to Quattrocchio and Sarjeant (2003, p.142). Age: Eocene.
