Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Florentinia. Davey and Verdier (1976, p.316) considered that this species may be a taxonomic synonym of Hystrichokolpoma unispinum, the type material of the latter representing possibly reworked Cretaceous specimens. Age: Cenomanian.
