Holotype: Valensi, 1953, pl.1, fig.8. Combination not validly published: basionym not fully referenced. NOW Ctenidodinium. Originally Gonyaulax (Appendix B), subsequently Gonyaulacysta? (combination not validly published), thirdly Hystrichogonyaulax, fourthly (and now) Ctenidodinium. Questionable assignment: Sarjeant (1966b, p.131). Age: Bathonian.
