?<B><I>polyozum</I></B> ([[Brosius, 1963]], p.45, pl.1, fig.6; pl.6, fig.5; text-figs.2a-d) [[Islam, 1993]], p.87.&nbsp; Holotype: [[Brosius, 1963]], pl.1, fig.6.&nbsp; Originally <I>[[Baltisphaeridium polyozum Appendix A|Baltisphaeridium]]</I> (Appendix A), subsequently <I>[[Cleistosphaeridium polyozum|Cleistosphaeridium]]</I>?, thirdly <I>[[Surculosphaeridium polyozum|Surculosphaeridium]]</I>, fourthly (and now) <I>Impletosphaeridium</I>?.&nbsp; Questionable assignment: [[Islam, 1993|Islam (1993]], p.87).&nbsp; The epithet is derived from the Greek for "much branched", as implied by [[Brosius, 1963|Brosius (1963]]).&nbsp; Since Principle 5 of the I.C.N. states that taxon names are to be treated as Latin, this epithet should be rendered as "<I>polyozum</I>" in agreement with the neuter gender of the generic name ("<I>polyoza</I>" would be the feminine form and "<I>polyozus</I>" the masculine form).&nbsp; Age: Late Oligocene.
