Calcareous dinoflagellate genus (see Streng et al., 2004, p.482 and Elbrächter et al., 2008, p.1300, the latter noting that the cyst wall is pithonelloid and so a dinoflagellate affinity is questionable). Name illegitimate — senior homonym: Normandia Hooker, 1872, a rubiacean. Substitute name: Zuegelia. Type: Zügel, 1994, pl.3, figs.1–5, as Normandia circumperforata.
