Originally Cannosphaeropsis, subsequently Polystephanephorus, thirdly (and now) Emmetrocysta. Although Sarjeant (1961b, p.1096) did not fully reference the basionym when he proposed this combination, he was clearly using zoological nomenclature, which does not require basionym citations. Age: Oligocene.
