Originally Hystrichosphaera (name not validly published), subsequently (and now) Micrhystridium. The name Hystrichosphaera inconspicua was not validly published in Deflandre (1935) since the generic name Hystrichosphaera was not validly published until 1937, and additionally since no holotype was designated, a requirement of the I.C.Z.N. at that time. Age: Late Cretaceous.
