<I><B>CHLAMYDOPHORELLA</B></I> [[Cookson and Eisenack, 1958]], p.56.&nbsp; Emendation: [[Duxbury, 1983]], p.41.&nbsp; Taxonomic junior synonyms: <I>[[Gardodinium]]</I>, by implication in [[Davey, 1978|Davey (1978]], p.893), who transferred the "type species" of <I>[[Gardodinium]]</I>, <I>[[Gardodinium trabeculosum]]</I>, to <I>Chlamydophorella</I> - however, [[Lentin and Williams, 1981|Lentin and Williams (1981]], p.108) retained <I>[[Gardodinium]]</I>; <I>[[Sepispinula]]</I>, by implication in [[Schi&#248;ler and Wilson, 1998|Schi&#248;ler and Wilson (1998]], p.328), who considered the type, <I>[[Sepispinula ancorifera|Sepispinula ancoriferum]]</I>, to be a taxonomic junior synonym of <I>[[Chlamydophorella ambigua]]</I> - however, Masure in [[Fauconnier and Masure, 2004|Fauconnier and Masure (2004]], p.499) retained <I>[[Sepispinula]]</I>.&nbsp; Type: [[Cookson and Eisenack, 1958]], pl.11, fig.1, as <I>[[Chlamydophorella nyei]]</I>.
