Taxonomic junior synonyms: Deflandrea (as Subtilisphaera) pirnaensis, according to Fensome et al. (2009, p.60); and by implication Scriniodinium cooksoniae, which Sarjeant and Anderson (1969, p.32–33) considered to be a taxonomic junior synonym of Deflandrea (subsequently Subtilisphaera) pirnaensis; Deflandrea (now Subtilisphaera) rotundata, according to Davey (1974, p.65) — however, Lentin and Williams (1976, p.119) retained Deflandrea (as and now Subtilisphaera) rotundata. Age: late Barremian.
