(1979]], p.499).&nbsp; Neotype: [[Deunff, 1980]], pl.1, fig.7, designated by [[Stancliffe and Sarjeant, 1994|Stancliffe and Sarjeant (1994]], p.233).&nbsp; Originally <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium trispinosum|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I>, subsequently (and now) <I>Veryhachium</I>, thirdly <I>[[Baltisphaeridium trispinosum Appendix A|Baltisphaeridium]]</I> (Appendix A), fourthly <I>[[Micrhystridium trispinosum Appendix A|Micrhystridium]]</I> (combination not validly published, Appendix A).&nbsp; This species was retained in <I>Veryhachium</I> by [[Cramer and Diez, 1979|Cramer and Diez (1979]], p.59).&nbsp; Taxonomic junior synonyms: <I>Veryhachium cucruse</I> [[Timofeev, 1962]], an acritarch species, according to [[Martin, 1969|Martin (1969]], p.106); <I>Veryhachium arctatum</I> [[Deunff, 1981]], <I>Veryhachium concavum</I> [[Piskun, 1974a]], <I>Veryhachium edenense</I> [[Colbath, 1979]], <I>Veryhachium microgranuliferum</I> [[Piskun, 1974a]] and <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium trisulcum|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I> (ultimately <I>[[Veryhachium trisulcum Appendix A|Veryhachium]]</I>) <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium trisulcum|trisulcum]]</I>, all acritarch species, and all according to [[Stancliffe and Sarjeant, 1994|Stancliffe and Sarjeant (1994]], p.233).&nbsp; The nomenclatural type of the genus <I>Veryhachium</I> remains the holotype of <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium trisulcum|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I> (ultimately <I>[[Veryhachium trisulcum Appendix A|Veryhachium]]</I>) <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium trisulcum|trisulcum]]</I>.&nbsp; This combination was not validly published in [[Deunff, 1954b|Deunff (1954b]], p.306) and [[Stockmans and Willi&#232;re, 1960|Stockmans and Willi&#232;re (1960]], p.2,5-6), since these authors did not fully reference the basionym.&nbsp; It was not validly published in [[Deunff, 1954b|Deunff (1954b]]) additionally since that author did not clearly use the name <I>Veryhachium trispinosum</I>.&nbsp; [[Cramer and Diez, 1979|Cramer and Diez (1979]], p.47) considered <I>Veryhachium trispinosum</I> (or <I>[[Veryhachium trisulcum Appendix A|Veryhachium trisulcum]]</I>) to be the possible taxonomic senior synonym of <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium monacanthum|Hystrichosphaeridium]]</I> (now <I>[[Deunffia monacantha Appendix A|Deunffia]]</I>) <I>[[Hystrichosphaeridium monacanthum|monacanthum]]</I>.&nbsp; Age: Silurian (erratic).
