Originally Thoracosphaera, subsequently Orthopithonella, thirdly (and now) Fuettererella. Taxonomic junior synonyms: Thoracosphaera (now Orthopithonella) johnstonei and Orthopithonella? minuta, according to Kohring (1993a, p.30) — however, Streng et al. (2004, p.482) retained Pithonella (as Pirumella) johnstonei and Orthopithonella? minuta. Age: Eocene.
