Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Baltisphaeridium (Appendix A), thirdly Priscogalea (Appendix A), fourthly (and now) Cymatiogalea (Appendix A). Taxonomic junior synonym: Cymatiogalea polygonomorpha Górka, 1967, an acritarch species, according to Rasul (1974, p.56). Age: Early Ordovician.
