Originally Pithonella tanyphloia, subsequently Obliquipithonella tanyphloia, thirdly Pirumella tanyphloia, fourthly (and now) Pirumella multistrata forma tanyphloia. Taxonomic junior synonym: Pithonella woodburyensis, according to Keupp (1981, p.36–38). Age: early Barremian.
