Holotype: de Coninck, 1986b, pl.1, figs.11-13; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.7, figs.1-3. NOW Areosphaeridium. Originally Areosphaeridium?, subsequently Surculosphaeridium?, thirdly (and now) Areosphaeridium. Questionable assignment: Stover and Williams (1995, p.102). Age: Late Eocene (Tongrian).
