Originally Lejeunia (generic name illegitimate), subsequently Astrocysta (combination not validly published), thirdly Palaeoperidinium. Taxonomic senior synonym: Palaeoperidinium cretaceum, according to Harker and Sarjeant in Harker et al. (1990, p.128). Age: late Campanian.
