Holotype: Fütterer, 1978, pl.2, figs.1,4,7. NOW Leonella. Originally Thoracosphaera, subsequently Obliquipithonella, thirdly Orthopithonella, fourthly (and now) Leonella. Age: late Pliocene–Pleistocene.
