Taxonomic senior synonym: Hystrichosphaera (as Phoberocysta, now Xenascus) ceratioides, according to Davey and Verdier (1971, p.27) — however, Stover and Helby (1987a, p.128) retained Xenascus blastema. N.I.A.. Age: Cenomanian.
