Order Phytodiniales

Dinophyceans in which the principal life-cycle stage comprises a coccoid ( vegetative cyst) stage without a calcareous wall, or a continuous-walled multicellular stage, or in which an amoeboid stage is present in a life-cycle which also includes a coccoid stage.
