Holotype: Sarjeant, 1960a, pl.6, fig.6; text-fig.3c; Eisenack and Kjellström, 1972, p.143; Stancliffe and Sarjeant, 1990, pl.3, figs.5,7,10; Fensome et al., 1995, figs.2,4 - p.1871. NOW Systematophora. Originally Polystephanosphaera, subsequently (and now) Systematophora. Taxonomic senior synonym: Hystrichosphaeridium (as and now Surculosphaeridium?) vestitum, according to Courtinat (1989, p.173) - however, Stancliffe and Sarjeant (1990, p.209) retained Polystephanosphaera (as and now Systematophora) valensii. Age: Late Oxfordian.
