Originally Adnatosphaeridium?, subsequently (and now) Thalassiphora. Questionable assignment: Williams and Downie (1966c, p.217). Taxonomic senior synonym: Thalassiphora pelagica, according to Benedek and Gocht (1981, p.59) — however, Lentin and Williams (1985, p.354) retained Thalassiphora patula. Taxonomic junior synonym: Subathua sahnii, according to Stover and Williams (1987, p.207) and Lentin and Williams (1989, p.354). Age: early Eocene.
