Difference between revisions of "Bonetocardiella conoidea"

<nowiki>*</nowiki><B><I>conoidea</I></B> ([[Bonet, 1956]], p.454-456, pl.22, figs.1[part]-2; pl.27, fig.1[part]) [[Dufour, 1968]], p.1948.&nbsp; Holotype: not designated.&nbsp; Originally <I>[[Stomiosphaera conoidea|Stomiosphaera]]</I>, subsequently (and now) <I>Bonetocardiella</I>, thirdly <I>[[Conejoconus conoideus|Conejoconus]]</I> (generic name illegitimate).&nbsp; Taxonomic junior synonym: <I>[[Stomiosphaera cardiiformis]]</I>, according to [[Andri, 1972|Andri (1972]], p.15) - however that species was later considered to be a taxonomic junior synonym of <I>[[Leptodermella maestrichtiensis Appendix A|Leptodermella]]</I> (now <I>[[Bonetocardiella maestrichtiensis|Bonetocardiella]]</I>) <I>[[Leptodermella maestrichtiensis Appendix A|maestrichtiensis]]</I>.&nbsp; [[Fensome and Williams, 2004|Fensome and Williams (2004]]) indicated that designation of a holotype was a requirement under the I.C.Z.N. at the time that [[Bonet, 1956|Bonet (1956]]) proposed this name; however, [[Elbr&#228;chter et al., 2008|Elbr&#228;chter et al. (2008]], p.1289) implied that it can be considered validly published as the name was proposed under the I.C.Z.N.&nbsp; [[Elbr&#228;chter et al., 2008|Elbr&#228;chter et al. (2008]], p.1289) cited "fig. 4" as the type of <I>Bonetocardiella</I>, but it is not clear to which reference this pertained to. Dufour did not reference the basionym when proposing this combination, but this was not a requirement since he was using zoological nomenclature.&nbsp; Age: mid Cretaceous.
