(1986a]], p.80) as a problematic species - however, [[Sarjeant, 1985a|Sarjeant (1985a]], p.49) retained the species in <I>Cribroperidinium</I> without question.&nbsp; Taxonomic senior synonym: <I>[[Gonyaulax edwardsii Appendix B|Gonyaulax]]</I> (as <I>[[Cribroperidinium edwardsii|Cribroperidinium]]</I>) <I>[[Gonyaulax edwardsii Appendix B|edwardsii]]</I>, according to [[Davey and Verdier, 1971|Davey and Verdier (1971]], p.17) - however, [[Below, 1981a|Below (1981a]], p.39-40) and [[Lentin and Williams, 1985|Lentin and Williams (1985]], p.79) retained <I>Cribroperidinium orthoceras</I>.&nbsp; Age: Aptian.
