Originally Lejeunia (generic name illegitimate), subsequently Astrocysta, thirdly Senegalinium, fourthly (and now) Phelodinium. Taxonomic senior synonym: Peridinium (as Lejeunia, now Phelodinium) tricuspe, according to Harker and Sarjeant (1975, p.223) — however, Lindgren (1984, p.181) retained Lejeunia (as Phelodinium) kozlowskii. Age: late Maastrichtian.
