Citation: Sphaeriparaceae Loeblich III, 1970. Diagnosis:Syndinialeans in which the multinucleate trophont is organized into an anterior, episome-like region and a posterior basal disc (or hyposome-like region); these are separated by a sharp constriction. Type genus: Sphaeripara Poche, 1911. Extant genera: Atlanticellodinium J. Cachon and Cachon-Enjumet, 1965. Sphaeripara Poche, 1911. (=Lohmannia Neresheimer, 1903; homonym - Lohmannella is substitute) (=Lohmannella Neresheimer, 1904; homonym - Sphaeripara is substitute) (=Neresheimeria Uebel, 1912; nomenclatural junior synonym, having same type)
