forma carteri (Bolli, 1974, p.852, pl.1, figs.1–4; pl.8, figs.1–3; pl.21, fig.1) Williams et al., 1998, p.489.  Holotype: Bolli, 1974, pl.1, figs.1–2; pl.21, fig.1.  Originally Pithonella carteri, subsequently Obliquipithonella carteri, thirdly Pirumella carteri, fourthly Obliquipithonella multistrata forma carteri, fifthly (and now) Pirumella multistrata forma carteri.  Taxonomic senior synonym: Pithonella (now Pirumella) multistrata, according to Keupp (1992a, p.500) — however, Kohring (1993a, p.65) retained Pithonella carteri (as Obliquipithonella multistrata forma carteri).  Taxonomic junior synonym (at specific rank): Pithonella woodburyensis, according to Kohring (1993a, p.65) — however, Pithonella woodburyensis is now considered a taxonomic junior synonym of Pithonella (now Pirumella) tanyphloia.  Age: Tithonian.
