Proximate

A term for a cyst which morphologically resembles the equivalent thecate stage being of comparable size and commonly "reflecting" the tabulation pattern of the theca. Septa or processes, where present, have a height less than ten percent of the shortest diameter of the central body. See also chorate and proximochorate.
