A term used by Netzel and Dürr (1984) to collectively include the patterns of plates and amphiesmal vesicles. As a general term, it corresponds with our tabulation type. See also gymnodinoid corticotype, woloszynskoid corticotype, peridinoid corticotype, gonyaulacoid corticotype, dinophysoid corticotype and prorocentroid corticotype.
