Özdikmen (2009, p.234) considered Edwardsiella Versteegh and Zevenboom to be illegitimate because it is a junior homonym of Edwardsiella Andres, 1883; however, Edwardsiella Andres is an animal and under the I.C.N. does not pre-empt Edwardsiella Versteegh and Zevenboom.
