Originally Hystrichosphaeridium oligacanthum subsp. stella, subsequently Baltisphaeridium oligacanthum subsp. stella (Appendix A), thirdly Cleistosphaeridium? oligacanthum subsp. stella, fourthly Surculosphaeridium? phoenix subsp. stella, fifthly (and now) Surculosphaeridium? stella. N.I.A. Age: Paleocene.
